As tile and natural stone have gained in popularity, so have the cleaning challenges. Soil is absorbed into the grout and settles into the pores of the hard surface.
Tile and grout are notoriously difficult to clean. As you probably already know, regular mopping, home tile cleaners and home grout cleaning methods just don’t do the trick, especially if you’re trying to eliminate stubborn dirt that has settled on tile surfaces or deep into grout lines.
Harsh cleaners, though improving the appearance initially, can strip away sealants and even open up the tile or stone. This allows the dirt, grease, and soil to penetrate deeper into the surface. Mopping becomes less and less effective as the grout attracts soil and discolours.
Our professional Tile Cleaning and Grout Cleaning process will keep your tile surfaces, grout lines and countertops clean and fresh. We do the job without causing any harm to the tile or the grout. There will not be any unpleasant chemical odours left behind, and the results are sure to stun both you, and your guests.
What makes tile cleaning and grout cleaning so difficult?
Dirt and contaminants build up over time, making your tiles look dull, and causing grout to darken and appear discoloured. Home cleaning methods simply can’t get at the built-up, ground-in dirt that has settled in hard-to-reach places. Dirt trapped in the pores of tile and grout is especially difficult to remove with traditional cleaning solutions.
People often wonder why grout turns black. Dirt, of course, is one reason, but the main cause of black grouting is mildew. Mildew is usually black, and it thrives in areas that are damp. Tile is often in such areas, and that is why they seem to require so much attention. The dampness causes mildew to build up on the grout. If left unchecked, mildew will erode the grouting. This will mean that a professional will have to be hired to do a re-grouting job. If this is not attended to, the situation will lead to broken tiles and once again, a professional will need to be hired.

- Our non-toxic cleansing agents include no harsh acids, strippers, or smelly chemicals.

- Our post-cleaning sealing agents will protect your tile, grout and natural stone from water and oil-based stains, tracked-in mud, sand and salt, as well as hard water deposits.
Our Tile Cleaning and Grout Cleaning processes can be used on all Tile Types. We select the appropriate cleaning agent depending on the type of your tile.
- If your tile is Porcelain, we mostly use Sodium Hydroxide diluted to the appropriate percentage.
- If your tile is a Natural Surface such as Travertine or Marble, we use Alkaline based chemicals or PH neutral chemicals to clean the surface and to prepare it for Sealing or Polishing.
– Grout Haze Cleaning
Grout haze is a semi-white film left on the surface of the tile after grouting. Even if you have diligently wiped down the surface with a wet sponge, haze will remain and will not come off until you take special measures. Regular floor cleaning will not remove it.
Grout is made of minerals and cement mixed with water. When the water dries, minerals remain on the tile surface. Residual grout haze is a normal part of tiling; because grouting involves smearing grout across the tile with a rubber float, the tile is entirely covered with grout at some point.
At Tile Solution Australia, we use a combination of non-harsh chemicals in the correct concentration which reacts with the grout haze and lifts it off of the tile. We then clean it using our indoor tile steam cleaning process.
